IWM iShares Russell 2000 ETF

Seeks to track, before fees and expenses, the Russell 2000 Index. The Index is a capitalization-weighted index made up of the smallest 2,000 U.S. common stocks as measured by market capitalization included in the Russell 3000 Index, which consists of the largest 3,000 U.S. common stocks based on market capitalization. Eligible stocks include common stocks and real estate investment trusts. Excluded securities include master limited partnerships (MLPs), business development companies (BDCs), American Depository Receipts (ADRs), and preferred stocks. The Index is reconstituted annually on the last Friday in June. Eligible IPOs are added to the Index quarterly. Because of takeovers and mergers, the Index often consists of slightly fewer than 2,000 members. See more discussion of this index in our article what is the Russell 2000 Index?
