This is an actively managed closed end fund that seeks to provide its common shareholders with high current income consistent with the preservation of capital. The fund invests primarily in preferred stocks. In addition to investing in traditional preferred stock, the fund will invest in hybrid preferreds, which are subordinated long-term debt (notes) that are somewhat akin to preferred stock, and contingent capital securities.
