SAPIMAIN S&P Municipal Bond Index

The Index measures the performance of bonds issued by state and local municipalities in the U.S. and its territories. All bonds in the index are exempt from U.S. federal income taxes, but some are subject to alternative minimum tax (AMT). The Index includes bonds of all qualities and all sectors of the municipal bond market. The bond must have a minimum outstanding amount of US$ 2 million and a minimum term to maturity greater than one calendar month to be eligible for inclusion. Taxable municipals and variable rate debt is excluded from the Index.
