SPY SPDR S&P 500 ETF

Seeks to track, before fees and expenses, the S&P 500 Index. The Index is a capitalization-weighted index made up of 500 widely held large-cap U.S. stocks spread out among eleven sectors of the economy using the GCIS sector classification system. It is not the largest 500 companies in the U.S., but rather 500 companies picked by a committee at S&P. These experts consider various factors when determining the 500 stocks that are included in the index, including market size, liquidity and industry grouping.
